GTA 6 DualSense Controller: Price, Release Date, Pre-Order & Everything We Know
Rockstar just gave GTA 6 fans another reason to spend money before the game even arrives.
Sony has revealed two limited-edition GTA 6 DualSense controllers – one inspired by the bright side of Vice City, and the other built around its darker neon nightlife.
But there’s more to them than a new GTA 6 design.
Here’s everything you need to know about the price, pre-order date, release, designs, DualSense features, and which controller might be worth getting.
Gamer take: Choosing between the Black and White controller somehow feels harder than choosing what car to steal in GTA. 😂

Sony revealed both controllers during its September 3, 2026 State of Play. They launch on November 19, the same day GTA 6 arrives on PS5.
Two Controllers, Two Sides of Vice City
Sony didn’t simply create one GTA 6 controller and release it in two colors.
The two designs are meant to capture two very different sides of Vice City.
The White Limited Edition leans into the brighter side of the city, with inspiration from its white sands and pastel skies.
The Black Limited Edition goes in the opposite direction, drawing from Vice City’s nightlife and neon-lit atmosphere.
Both controllers feature a shimmering, color-shifting finish, while palm-tree details are molded directly into the controller. That gives them a more distinctive look than simply adding GTA 6 artwork to a standard DualSense.
How Much Is the GTA 6 DualSense?
The official price is $84.99 USD for both editions.
Sony has also confirmed:
- €84.99 in Europe
- £74.99 in the UK
- ¥12,480 in Japan, including tax
There is no separate price for the Black and White editions. The main differences are their designs and availability.
When Can You Pre-Order the GTA 6 Controller?
Pre-orders open on September 10, 2026.
In the US, PlayStation Direct pre-orders begin at 7:00 AM PT / 10:00 AM ET. Other supported markets have their own local start times.
Sony has also confirmed that both controllers will be available in limited quantities.
So if you already know you want one, September 10 is the date to remember.
When Does the GTA 6 DualSense Release?
Both controllers launch on November 19, 2026.
That’s also the release date of Grand Theft Auto VI on PS5, putting the controllers alongside the game’s launch rather than releasing them later as separate accessories.
What Will the GTA 6 DualSense Do in the Game?
This is where the controller gets more interesting.
The special GTA 6 design doesn’t come with a separate gameplay system. Instead, GTA 6 itself uses the existing DualSense technology on PS5.
Sony has confirmed support for haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
Haptic feedback will respond to gameplay and environmental situations across Leonida and Vice City.
Rockstar has shown more of these gameplay systems in its latest GTA 6 Extended Look, including combat, NPC behaviour and activities across Leonida.
The adaptive triggers add dynamic resistance during gameplay, while the DualSense’s built-in speaker adds another layer to certain sounds and interactions.
Sony hasn’t explained every individual interaction yet, so it’s too early to say exactly how specific weapons, vehicles or activities will feel.
What we do know is that the DualSense is being used as part of GTA 6’s experience, rather than simply being a way to control the game.
Black vs White: Is One Better?
Not when it comes to gameplay.
Sony hasn’t announced any feature difference between the two editions. Both are limited-edition DualSense controllers with the same core functionality.
The choice is really about which side of Vice City you prefer.
The White Edition captures the brighter, more relaxed side of the city.
The Black Edition goes for its darker nightlife and neon aesthetic.
Where Can You Buy the GTA 6 DualSense?
The White Edition will be available through PlayStation Direct and participating retailers in supported markets.
The Black Edition will be available through PlayStation Direct where available, with select retailers in some regions.
Sony says availability can vary by market, and both editions are being sold in limited quantities.
Is the GTA 6 DualSense Worth Buying?
The simple answer is:
You don’t need it to play GTA 6.
A standard DualSense already supports the PS5 features GTA 6 uses, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
The reason to buy the limited edition is the design and collector appeal.
If you simply need a controller, the regular DualSense makes more sense.
If you’re a GTA fan who wants official hardware built around Vice City, the $84.99 price is much easier to justify.
If you’re also planning to buy GTA 6 itself, you can check our guide on GTA 6 Xbox discounts before paying full price.
And because quantities are limited, waiting until launch day could be a gamble.
KarmaVerse Verdict: Is the GTA 6 DualSense Controller Worth It?
From the KarmaVerse perspective, this controller is less about getting something you need and more about getting something you’ll actually want to keep.
The standard DualSense already gives you the core PS5 features GTA 6 will use, so there’s no real gameplay reason to upgrade. But the Vice City-inspired design, limited availability, and the fact that it launches alongside GTA 6 make these controllers pretty tempting for fans.
If we had to pick one, we’d go with the Black Edition. The darker neon look feels more in line with the Vice City vibe we’re expecting from GTA 6, and honestly, it just looks cooler.
At $84.99, we’d say it’s worth considering if you’re already a big GTA fan or collector. If you just need a controller to play the game, though, save the money for something else.
Our verdict: Not a must-have, but definitely a very tempting GTA 6 collectible.
And yes, choosing between Black and White might genuinely be harder than choosing which car to steal first. 😂
