GTA 6: 10 Hidden Details You Missed in the Extended Look
You probably watched the GTA 6 Extended Look. But how many of these GTA 6 hidden details did you actually catch?
The GTA 6 Extended Look was packed with gameplay, story moments and tiny details across Vice City and Leonida. Rockstar says the footage was captured entirely from in-game PlayStation 5 gameplay, giving us one of the clearest looks yet at how GTA 6 actually plays.
And while most players were busy looking at the graphics, Rockstar quietly showed off some seriously interesting systems.
Here are 10 GTA 6 details you might have missed.
Gamer take: Forget the wanted level – Jason now has to worry about his waistline too. 😂
10 GTA 6 Hidden Details You Might Have Missed
1. Character Switching Can Happen Mid-Chaos
One of the coolest things about GTA 6’s character switching is that Jason and Lucia can already be in the middle of the action when control changes.
During the police chase shown in the Extended Look, Lucia drives while Jason shoots at the pursuing police. Control can then shift between them, allowing the player to take over a different role without completely breaking the action.
It makes the two protagonists feel less like separate characters and more like an actual team.
Basically, GTA 6 doesn’t want you to pause the chaos just to change characters.
2. Jason's Physical Appearance Isn't Completely Static
Jason isn’t just going to wear different clothes throughout GTA 6 – his body can change too.
The Extended Look shows characters eating and working out, and reporting from the showcase notes that food and exercise can affect physical appearance.
That adds another layer to character progression, especially because Rockstar isn’t treating appearance as something that’s completely disconnected from gameplay.
3. NPCs Can Actually Be Interacted With
This is easy to overlook because GTA 6 has so many NPCs moving around.
But Rockstar appears to be taking its Red Dead Redemption 2-style interaction system even further. The Extended Look shows contextual interactions with people, while reported details from the showcase include options such as greeting, taunting, provoking and defusing situations.
That could make random encounters much more unpredictable.
Instead of every stranger being background decoration, some of them can actually become part of what happens next.
4. The Minimap Can Show Buildings in 3D
The new minimap isn’t just a cleaner version of GTA 5’s map.
During the Extended Look, the map appears to render nearby buildings as three-dimensional structures, while analysis of the footage also suggests buildings with interiors can become more visually distinct.
Rockstar hasn’t published a complete explanation of how the system works, so we shouldn’t overstate it.
But even at a glance, the new map is clearly doing more than simply drawing roads.
5. Shooting a Tire Can Completely Change a Chase
This might look like another GTA physics moment, but there’s more going on.
In the Extended Look, shooting a vehicle’s tires can cause it to lose control, flip, crash into the environment or lose a wheel.
That matters during pursuits because shooting at a specific part of a vehicle can change the entire situation instead of simply reducing its health.
Miss the driver? Just make the car’s day dramatically worse. 😂
These GTA 6 hidden details aren’t just visual Easter eggs – many of them hint at how Rockstar is changing the way the world reacts to the player.
6. You Can Actually Interact With Animals
Yes, the dog-petting feature is real.
The Extended Look shows Jason interacting with a dog, and the game’s broader interaction system appears to extend beyond humans as well. WIRED specifically confirmed the dog can be petted.
It might sound like a tiny detail, but these interactions help sell Rockstar’s larger goal for Leonida: the world shouldn’t feel like it exists only for missions.
And honestly, some players are probably going to spend the first hour of GTA 6 looking for every dog instead of committing a crime.
7. An Influencer Can Livestream Your Police Chase
This is one of the most GTA details in the entire showcase.
Lucia encounters an influencer hiding in the trunk of a stolen car, and the situation turns into a police chase while the influencer continues livestreaming the chaos.
It’s more than a funny scene.
GTA 6 appears to use social media as part of its world-building, turning modern internet culture into another way for events to unfold around the player.
Imagine getting a five-star wanted level and realizing your getaway is being streamed to everyone in Vice City. 😂
8. Stealing a Car Isn't Just One Animation
Rockstar is giving players more than one way to take a vehicle. GTA 6 is also adding more detailed vehicle systems, including the controversial fuel mechanic we recently covered.
In the Extended Look, a locked car presents options including using a Slim Jim or smashing the window. One approach is quieter, while the other is much more obvious.
That’s a small interaction, but it reflects a bigger design philosophy in GTA 6:
How you do something can matter almost as much as what you’re doing.
9. The World Keeps Reacting During Chaos
The Extended Look repeatedly shows events continuing around Jason and Lucia instead of stopping whenever the player starts a fight or chase.
Police cars crash, civilians react, vehicles create environmental destruction and other characters continue moving through the scene. WIRED highlighted the more reactive driving and destruction shown during the police chase.
That’s important because GTA 6 isn’t just trying to make its world look busy.
It’s trying to make the world behave like something is actually happening inside it.
10. Police Recognition May Depend on More Than Your Car
This could become one of GTA 6’s most interesting systems.
The Extended Look appears to show police tracking information about the player’s appearance, clothing, weapons and vehicle, rather than simply recognizing the stolen car. However, Rockstar hasn’t published the complete rules for how police identification works.
That means changing vehicles might not always be enough to escape attention.
It’s an important distinction, though: the footage suggests this system exists, but we don’t yet know every rule behind it.
And that’s exactly why this could become one of the biggest gameplay changes in GTA 6.
KarmaVerse Verdict: GTA 6 Hidden Details
That’s what makes these GTA 6 hidden details worth looking at: they reveal how many systems are working together behind the scenes.
It’s the fact that small systems are constantly interacting with each other.
Your appearance can change. NPCs can react to you. Cars can behave differently after taking damage. Police may remember what you look like. Even a random influencer can turn your getaway into a livestream.
And that’s what makes these details interesting.
Rockstar isn’t just building a bigger GTA. It’s building a world that seems much more willing to react to whatever stupid thing you decide to do. 😂
The real question now is: how many more details are still hiding in that 26-minute showcase?
